Hip-hop has never been entirely separate from Loco Dice’s trajectory. Before building his career in electronic music, he worked as a DJ and rapper in Germany during the 1990s, a period in which he opened shows for artists including Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube. On Eyes On Me, released by Universal Music on August 28, part of that background resurfaces within the house language Dice would later develop.
The track combines an essentially club-driven foundation with elements of sampling, hip-hop and grime, placing rhythm and percussion at the forefront of the production. Its dialogue with British urban music also has a recent precedent outside the studio: in July, Dice played alongside Skepta in the Club Room at Hï Ibiza during the British artist’s Más Tiempo residency.
Eyes On Me follows Hold Up (You Feel That) and continues the steady run of releases Dice has maintained since his 2025 album Purple Jam. Rather than simply pointing toward a new direction, the single highlights a relationship that has informed his music for decades: the possibility of bringing hip-hop codes into electronic music without treating those two stages of his career as separate worlds.
